The House of Snails

La casa del caracol

Writer Antonio Prieto (Javier Rey) decides to spend the summer in a remote town in the mountains outside Malaga, where he hopes to find tranquility and inspiration for his next novel. There he meets Berta (Paz Vega, also in Wetland), an alluring woman whom he feels instantly attracted to, as well as several other eccentric citizens that he starts to investigate and write about.

As the characters begin to find their way into the pages of his manuscript, local quirkiness soon turns menacing when Antonio discovers that the locals are hiding numerous secrets, as well as a terrifying and dark legend. Forced to question where reality ends and fiction begins, his experiences over time will lead him to discover that sometimes reality is much stranger than fiction.

The debut fiction feature from director Macarena Astorga, The House of Snails is a slow burn psychological thriller filled with twists and turns that will have you on the edge of your seat.
